Parumoana Principal’s Association Speech Contest
| This Club project was held at Aotea
College on Friday 17th November 2006. It was held under the guiding hand of David Knight and more that a dozen Club members attended to observe the three Judges—Wendy Betteridge, Velma Knight and Carol Dring—handle the difficult task of selecting the winners out of seventeen budding orators from the eight participating schools. The topics chosen varied widely from ‘Touring in Turkey’ to ‘Chimpanzees’ to ‘Violence’. In the Year 5 & 6 group Emma Symonds (Plimmerton), Joshua Metcalf (Pukerua Bay) and Sophie Burke (Discovery) were the top three and in the Year 7 & 8, Taelar Samuel(Plimmerton), Jannah Hibberd (Postgate) , and Joshua Trlin (Papakowhai) took out the top three places. |
